About this Pattern

When you need a quick project to fill the shelves at your fall markets or you need a last-minute gift, mug cozies are a great option. This one recommends a chunky weight yarn that’s available in dozens of color options.

With this project, you’ll learn a great textured stitch that can be used for all sorts of projects. You’ll also see how to turn a basic shape into a functional mug cozy. There are only a few steps involved and you don’t need much yarn to make one. We recommend Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn for this because it’s easy to find at craft stores and it comes in a wide variety of colors. But if you have another chunky weight yarn on hand you’d rather use, you can substitute of course.

Before you begin, review this page entirely so you understand the full scope of the project. We have a list of recommended supplies and abbreviations here on this page as well as written instructions and a tutorial to walk you through our simple crochet mug cozy step-by-step.
