The crochet woven stitch creates a beautifully unique texture that’s unlike any other crochet stitch. Rather than being made up of standard crochet stitches, it combines different stitch motions to create its texture. The resulting fabric has a great drape making it perfect for all sorts of projects.

Suggested Supplies

Pair the crochet woven stitch with any of your favorite yarns and it’ll look great. It’s a versatile stitch in that way but it’s beautiful texture is best showcased when paired with a smooth or lightly textured yarn.

**Woven Stitch (Ws):

YO and insert hk in designated st. YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on hk). Pull first loop through middle loop on hk. YO and pull through rem 2 loops on hk. YO and insert hk in same st. YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on hk). Pull first loop through other two loops on hk.

Additional Notes: Ch 1 at beginning of row does not count as a st so you will work the first single crochet of the row in the first st. We don’t have a tutorial for this stitch yet but we’re working on it.

Written Instructions


Row 1: Ch any even number of sts. 1 sc in 2nd ch from hk. Ws in next ch. *Sk one ch. Ws in next ch. Rep from * to last ch. 1 Sc in the last chain. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2: 1 sc in first st. *Sk next st. Ws in next st. Rep from * to last st. 1 sc in last st. Ch 1 and turn.

Repeat: Rep last row until work measures the length you want.
