I mentioned in a previous post that I’ll be working closely with Yarnspirations in 2017. This means I will be sharing their amazing free patterns, publishing tutorials for their patterns on my channel and introducing you to their newest yarn and color options. I couldn’t think of a more natural way to progress B.hooked Crochet!
I know you have grown to love my designs and my style. By myself, I can create a few new designs each month, depending on the size (and I will continue to do so). You should be excited about this collaboration because now I can introduce you to not only dozens of my own designs but HUNDREDS of theirs!
I plan my editorial calendar around you and what feedback I get from you via email, social and commenting. When a project is popular, I create a unique pattern and tutorial. That does, however, leave out several requests. With Yarnspirations by my side, I’m able to refer you to the freshest crochet patterns based on your individual needs. If you are looking for a specific pattern that isn’t already in my collection, I can refer you to a Yarnspirations pattern!
Yarnspirations Fits My Style.
I’ve always differentiated myself from other designers with my unique and “fresh” style. I love traditional crochet, don’t get me wrong, but I LOVE transforming a traditional form of art to fit the modern style of today’s world.
Throughout 2017, you’ll get a post just like this one to introduce you to something cool that Yarnspirations does every month.
The Look Book
Every month, Yarnspirations puts together a Look Book to feature their newest free patterns for knitting and crochet. Think online magazine. Within each monthly Look Book you can expect to find stunning photos like the ones within this post all featuring a single yarn.
You won’t get an introduction like this in every post but since this is a new thing, I wanted to make sure we are on the same page. My purpose for each one of these posts is to inspire you with even more free crochet patterns. I would like for you to take a few minutes each month to view the Look Book (I’ll include a link to each) and download the free patterns that you’re interested in. I’ll also highlight the pattern that I’ll be working on that month.
January 2017 Featured Look Book Yarn: Caron One Pound
Caron One Pound is my go-to acrylic yarn option – it’s softer than most of the “value” yarn options on the market. No need to wash with fabric softener or conditioner!
You can purchase Caron One Pound from just about every retailer that sells yarn. The best part? It’s affordable. Really affordable. You can buy one skein – it really weighs 1 lb – for $8.99 and that gets you 812 yards. You can crochet up to four hats with that or an entire sweater. Four skeins gets you more than enough to make an entire blanket. These are pretty good selling points in my eyes and is why I purchase Caron One Pound when I need the best bang for my buck.
The Look Book: Gray Matters
The January 2017 issue features not only my favorite value yarn but also my favorite neutral in projects that are for my home. Win, win, win. It’s called Gray Matters and you must see the projects right now!
When you click on the link above, you will be met with an interactive online book (it’s mobile friendly too!) that features 12 brand new crochet and knit patterns for the home using Caron One Pound yarn. I’ve flipped through each page and decided on a project to work on myself. Which one are you interested in trying?
If you’d like to go straight to the patterns and bypass the inspiration in the Look Book, you can view all the new Yarnspirations patterns this month right here:
My Look Book Project for January
I love pillows. I love crochet pillows even more. I have so many pillows on my couches that we have to move them around to have room to sit. They’re on my ottomans and beds, pretty much anywhere I can put them. They bring such a “homey” feel to the room.
Why not make another pillow this month?
I’ve chosen to crochet the Bold Angles Crochet pillow using Caron One Pound in medium gray, dark gray, sunflower and white. I’ll post pictures of my progress on my Instagram and Facebook so keep an eye out for those!
If you haven’t done so already, take a few minutes to flip through the virtual pages of the January Look Book from Yarnspirations. That link again is:
When you see a project you like and might try out yourself, tell me in the comments section below. I’d love to hear what you’re going to make! If you need any help, please let me know. That’s what I’m here for.
