Crown Increases

Round 1: Ch 3. Join with slst to first ch. Ch 3 (counts as dc). Make 9 dc in center of ring. Join with a slst to the 3rd ch. (10 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc). Dc in same st as ch 3. Make 2 dc in each rem st. Join with a slst to 3rd ch. (20 sts)

Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc). In same st as ch 3, [dc, ch 2, 2 dc].  *Sk 1 st. [2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next st. Rep from * 8 more times. Join with a slst to 3rd ch.

Round 4: Slst in next st and in first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc). In same ch-2 sp, [2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc]. *Sk to next ch-2 sp and [3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in ch-2 sp. Rep from * 8 more times. Join with a slst to 3rd ch.

Round 5: Slst in next 2 sts and in first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc). In same ch-2 sp, [3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. *Sk to next ch-2 sp and [4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc] in ch-2 sp. Rep from * 8 more times. Join with a slst to 3rd ch.

Round 6: Slst in next 3 sts and in first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc). In same ch-2 sp, [3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. *Sk 4 sts and dc in space between 4th and 5th dc. Sk to next ch-2 sp and [4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. Rep from * 8 more times. Sk 4 dc and dc in space between 4th and 5th dc. Join with a slst to 3rd ch.

Round 7: Slst in next 3 sts and in first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc). In same ch-2 sp, [3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. *Sk 4 sts and make 2 dc in next. Sk to next ch-2 sp and [4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. Rep from * 8 more times. Sk 4 dc and make 2 dc in next st. Join with a slst to 3rd ch.

Hat Body Repeat

Rounds 8-11: Slst in next 3 sts and in first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc). In same ch-2 sp, [3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. *Sk 4 sts and dc in next 2 sts. Sk to next ch-2 sp and [4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc]. Rep from * 8 more times. Sk 4 sts and dc in next two. Join with a slst to 3rd ch.

Brim Repeat

Round 12: Ch 1. Sc in same st as ch. Sc in next 3 dc. *2 sc in ch-2 sp. Sc in next 10 dc. Rep from * to last ch-2 sp. 2 sc in ch-2 sp. Sc in last 6 dc. Do not join. Continue to work in a spiral. Place marker on your first stitch of the next round.

Rounds 13-22: Sc in every st. (120 sts)
