This new yarn has me all excited!
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know how much I love a variegated roving yarn. Some would say I’m a little obsessed with it! I’m drawn to the look and feel of it but more importantly, the excitement from seeing how it will work up with the designs that are dancing around in my head.
When I heard about the new yarn, Evermore, from Red Heart Yarns, I had to give it a try! I’ve teamed up with them to bring you a tutorial for their Make Waves Throw featuring this brand new yarn and I just know you’re going to love it!
What you see here is a gorgeous design by Red Heart, the Make Waves Throw. By crocheting this pattern, you will get the experience of working the popular chevron stitch and the delight of working with Evermore yarn.
I spent between 18 and 20 hours crocheting my throw. This pattern calls for the Evermore, a chunky weight yarn so it works up extremely fast. If you crave a weekend project, this is it!
This is a great first time throw – even for a beginner. Even though a chevron may look complicated, it’s really quite simple. Throughout the entire pattern we will use the double crochet stitch. You’ll also learn a double crochet decrease stitch to form the “valleys” of the chevrons. Don’t be thrown by this, it only has a one row pattern repeat and I cover everything in the tutorial.
If you want to make your own Make Waves Throw, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Download the free pattern from Red Heart
- Purchase your supplies as specified on the instructions
- Watch my video tutorial to guide you through it
