My name is Brittany and I’ll be your personal guide in this new journey.
I’ve spent the last four years building one of the best online resources for people just like you – those who want to learn how to crochet! As a brand new crocheter, you’re probably on information overload. There are TONS of free (and not so free) information online about “how to crochet”.
To get you started, you just need the basics. Let’s start with some easy-to-follow, free videos.
Watch these videos to learn the basics:
- Hooks & Yarn
- Getting Started (Right Handed) or Getting Started (Left Handed)
- The Single Crochet (Right Handed) or The Single Crochet (Left Handed)
- The Half Double Crochet (Right Hand) or The Half Double Crochet (Left Hand)
- The Double Crochet (Right Handed) or The Double Crochet (Left Handed)
Now that you get the basics, you must give it a try!
The great thing about crochet is that you need very few supplies. A few good hooks, couple skeins of yarn, a darning needle and a good pair of scissors. That’s it! Below, you will find my list of supplies for first timers. You can purchase them right from my recommended online resource, Amazon! With these supplies, you’ll be able to follow along with the videos above and make your first few swatches.
Disclosure: Please note that the links on this page are affiliate links, and at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you decide to purchase your hooks online. Please understand that I have experience with Amazon and have tried many of these crochet hooks. I recommend them because they are great hooks, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy them. Please do not spend any money on this product unless you feel you need them or that they will help you accomplish your goals.
I’m here for you.
My job is to make sure you’re successful and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Once you have learned the basics, you’ll need some guidance through your first few projects. To the right, you’ll find some of my absolute beginner friendly patterns. Best of all, they are completely free and most of them have a video tutorial to walk you through it.
Please feel free to reach out to me personally if you have any questions at all (or just to tell me of your success!) You can reach me at – firstname.lastname@example.org – That comes straight to me personally. I read every single email and do my best to respond to them within a week.
Being a part of a community is important to your crochet journey. Leave a comment below introducing yourself to other crocheters just like you!
I also recommend you follow me on your favorite social network. I’m there inspiring and instructing!
