About this Pattern

If you’re looking for a quick and easy project you can whip up in a matter of minutes, you’re in the right place. A barefoot sandal is a cute addition to your flip flops and, of course, bare feet.

With this project you’ll learn the basics of crochet triangles in the round, a useful skill you can use for future projects. You’ll make adjustments to the number of chains in the toe and heel straps as you work so the fit is completely custom. It doesn’t matter what size your foot is!

Before you begin, review this page entirely so you understand the full scope of the project. We prepared a list of recommended supplies and abbreviations you’ll need to get started as well written instructions to walk you through our barefoot crochet sandals from start to finish.

Stop to check fit

Loop ch 12 around your second toe. When ch 12 is slightly stretched, the work should sit mostly centered on top of your foot. If it does not, rip back the last 2 dc and add more chains until it sits central on your foot. If it sits too far back on your foot, rip back the last 2 dc and remove chains until it sits central on your foot. Record the number of chains used so you can do the same thing for the second barefoot sandal.

Cont Round 4: *1 dc in each st to next ch-2 sp. In ch-2 sp (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc). Rep from * to last ch-2 sp. In last ch-2 sp (2 dc, ch 2). Ch 2. Join with a slst to 3rd ch. Do not fasten off.

Heel Strap

Ch 26. Join with a slst to opposite ch-2 sp. Slide foot through loop and push it back to the heel.

Stop to check fit

Place toe loop on second toe to check fit. It should be slightly stretched and comfortable to wear. If it’s too tight, remove join and add additional chains. If it’s too loose, remove join and remove chains until you have a comfortable fit. Record the number of chains used so you can do the same thing for the second barefoot sandal.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
