Additional Notes

Finished Size

15″ circumference;
4.5″ tall

Gauge

5 sts x 3 rows = 2″ (double crochet)

The top hat shaping is accomplished by working in the back loop only for one round to create the edge of the top hat. Additional shaping is done by hand. The use of a bulky yarn paired with a smaller-than-recommended hook also helps give it the rigidity to hold it’s shape.

Additional Notes: Chain 3 at beginning of round counts as double crochet.

This pattern recommends using the magic ring to start crocheting in the round. Learn how to make a magic ring with our tutorial here.
