Pattern Notes

The Crochet Market Bag is worked from the bottom, up by crocheting in the round. The handle is crocheted last by working into the stitches on one side of the bag and sewn on with a darning needle to the other side. Please note that although this pattern recommends crocheting a handle that is 36″ long, you may add more rows of single crochet (or subtract) to make the handle the perfect size to meet your needs.

This pattern calls for the use of a magic ring or magic circle to begin working in the round. This technique is broken down in the video tutorial, but if you find yourself needing a more detailed and slower demonstration, I recommend you take a look at this article to get you started – Crochet Magic Ring for Beginners.

If the magic ring is your natural born enemy and you wish to begin this pattern using a different method, I recommend you check out this article for guidance – Alternate Magic Ring Method.
