Suggested Supplies

The wavelength stitch is versatile enough to use with a variety of yarn weights and textures. No matter which yarn you choose, it’s best to incorporate at least two contrasting colors so you can see the wave.

Abbreviations & Special Stitches

This pattern is written using standard US crochet terminology.

  • Ch Chain
  • Dc Double crochet
  • Hdc Half double crochet
  • Hk Hook
  • Rem Remaining
  • Rep Repeat
  • Sc Single crochet
  • St(s) Stitch(es)
  • Tc Treble crochet

Additional Notes: Chain one at beginning of rows does not count as a st. Chain 3 at beginning of rows counts as a treble crochet. Treble crochet stitches are usually 4 chains high, however, we noticed a cleaner edge when using 3 chains instead of 4. Try them both and see what works best for you.

For same look as photos and in tutorial, work odd numbered rows in a main color and even numbered rows in any variety of contrast colors.
