Sure, as long as it’s in the same weight category. Check your gauge and adjust as needed so the sizing comes out right. The recommended yarn amount will likely be different too.

This pattern is worked from the toe up. You’ll want to be comfortable working with post stitches and the shell stitch. Refer to my video tutorial for a demonstration:

How to crochet the shell stitch with Brittany

As mentioned in the gauge section, if you follow this pattern and use the recommended supplies your slipper socks will fit a women’s size 7-8 shoe. You can modify the sizing by lengthening the foot section. Instructions on how to do this is included.

Written Instructions


Round 1: Create a magic ring with 10 dc. Join with a slst to the third chain. (10 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2. 2 fpdc every st. Join with a slst to first fpdc. (20 sts)

Round 3-14: Ch 2. 1 fpdc every st. Join with a slst to first fpdc. (20 sts)

Tip: add more thank 14 rounds or fewer than 14 rounds to customize the foot length fit.

Heel Shaping

Round 15: Ch 2. Make 2 fpdc in first 5 sts. Fpdc next 10 sts. 2 fpdc last 5  sts. Join with a slst to the first fpdc. (30 sts)

Rounds 16-18: Ch 2. 1 fpdc every stitch. Join with a slst to first fpdc. (30 sts)

Round 19: Ch 2. Fpdc2tog 5 times. 1 fpdc next 10 sts. Fpdc2tog 5 times. Join with a slst to the first fpdc. (20 sts)

Ankle Shaping & Leg

Round 20: Ch 2. 2 fpdc first 2 sts. Fpdc next 5 sts. 2 fpdc next 6 sts. Fpdc next 5 sts. 2 fpdc last two sts. Join with a slst to first fpdc. (30 sts)

Round 21: Ch 3 (counts as middle dc of shell). 2 dc in same st as ch. *Sk 2 sts, sc in next. Sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next. Rep from * to end of round. 2 dc in the same st as first partial shell. Join with a slst to the third chain.

Round 22: Ch 1 (counts as sc). *Sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next. Sk 2 sts, sc in next. Rep from * to end of round. Join with a slst to the first ch.

Rep rounds 21 and 22 a total of six more times (7 rounds of shell stitch). Fasten off and weave in your ends.
