My good friends at Yarnspirations released a whole slew of baby crochet patterns. The theme – Baby Showers! The Sleepy Sloth Lovie is among these new patterns and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to teach you how to crochet this lovie from start to finish.
This project couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. My niece is now one month old and she needs a cozy sleepy sloth lovie in her life!
This crochet lovie works up in a few short evening crochet sessions. The longest part is of course the blanket. It measures approximately 22″ by 22″ and it uses a clever blend of basic stitches to create luscious texture. Once the blanket or the body is complete, it comes together very fast.
The Sleepy Sloth Lovie by Yarnspirations is made up of several components: a body, head, face, eye patches and feet. Each element is crocheted separately and sewn together.
You’ll use three different colors of the brand new Bernat Baby Blanket Tiny yarn. This pattern recommends using the colors brown bear, gray owl and polar bear, however, you can get very creative with Yarnspirations 18 different shades.
If you want to make your own Sleepy Sloth Lovie, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Download the free pattern from Yarnspirations
- Purchase your supplies as specified on the instructions. Bernat Baby Blanket Tiny is available in some retail locations as well as from Yarnspirations.com.
- Watch my video tutorial to guide you through it
