introduction

About this Pattern

If you’re looking for a really easy knitting pattern but want to make something more than a headband or wash cloth, look no further than the Giant Knit Blanket.

With this project you’ll get lots of practice with knits and purls, the two most essential stitches in knitting. When used in the right combination, these stitches make the most recognizable stitches in knitting, the stockinette stitch.

Before you begin, review this page entirely so you understand the full scope of the project. We worked with Yarnspirations to bring you a downloadable, printable pattern PDF as well as a video tutorial that’ll walk you through the entire thing.

getting started

Recommended Supplies

  • Approx 515 yds (8 skeins); Bernat Mega Bulky Yarn (colorway pictured: Light Gray Heather)
  • US 50 (25 mm); Circular Knitting Needle, 48″ long
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors

FAQ: Can I use a different yarn?
Sure, as long as it’s in the same weight category. Check your gauge and adjust as needed so the sizing comes out right. The recommended yarn amount will likely be different too.
