Let’s Make a Statement.

Not too long ago my husband and I moved into a cozy new home and ever since home decor has been top of mind. There’s nothing quite like taking a space and making it your own. The theme for our main living space is “travel” with artwork and decor representing all the places we have been. This way we get to relive all of those special moments everyday!

I also love incorporating elements that we both love which means there is lots of yarn! Most recently added to the collection of special things are the crochet marled chair pads from Yarnspirations latest Lookbook, Warm Minimalism – the perfect theme for our cozy home. This month you’ll find projects that are sure to inspire you with organic and rich colors paired with texture and geometric shapes. If you haven’t done so already, have a look at the Warm Minimalism Lookbook – it’s completely free, of course!

The Pattern

Of course I had to add my own little twist! The Crochet Marled Chair Pads were exactly the right size for the stools at our island and rather than inverting the color pattern from one side to the next, I decided to keep both sides the same. I love the outcome!

That’s not all you can do with this design though. Not only does it make a great chair pad and stool cover, it also looks really neat hanging on a wall!

And if that isn’t great enough if you only make one of the two sides, it makes a perfect placemat!

You can get the pattern free on Yarnspirations website! If you take some time to view the Lookbook, you’ll find it linked there or you can get to it directly here:

The Color Possibilities are (almost) endless.

Patons Classic Wool Bulky is available in 23 different color options. I really wanted to play with the “marled” ombre look so I used dark grey ragg and dark grey heather. I just love how it turned out!

I also made a chair pad for my studio using only one color of Patons Classic Wool Bulk, navy. This approach really allows for the texture to shine!
