About this Pattern


If you’re looking for a quick and easy knitting pattern (that isn’t a scarf), you’re in the right place. Our easy knit headband is perfect for new knitters looking for a project that works up in a few short hours.

This is a great project to start with if you want to learn how to knit on circular needles. Knitting a headband on circulars is probably the easiest project you can make. You’ll also get to practice your knit and purling skills as you work a popular ribbed stitch pattern.

  • Approx 20 yds; Patons Alpaca Blend yarn (colorway pictured: Birch) Color A
  • Approx 20 yds; Patons Alpaca Blend yarn (colorway pictured: Smoke) Color B
  • US 10.5 Circular Needle, 16″
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors

  • Baby 16″ circumference; 2.5″ width
  • Toddler 18″ circumference; 3″ length

Gauge

7.25 sts x 11 rounds = 2″

Written Instructions


Round 1: CO 48 (57, 60, 69, 72) *K2. P1. Rep from * to end of round.

Rounds 2-9: Rep round 1. Break color A at end of 9th round and join color B.

Rounds 10-19: With color B, Rep round 1.

Finishing

Bind off in pattern. Keep your bind-off as loose as possible to allow for the headband to stretch.
