Gather Your Supplies

  • Color A: Patons Alpaca Blend, Tiger Eye, approx.
  • Color B: Patons Alpaca Blend, Aran, approx.
  • Clover Takumi 16″ Circular 6.5 mm needle
  • Clover Takumi 6.5 mm Double Pointed needles
  • Darning Needle
  • Scissors

  • CO = Cast On
  • K = Knit
  • K2tog = Knit Two Together
  • P = Purl
  • Rem = Remaining

8 sts x 10 rows =  2″ (when worked in double moss stitch pattern )

Written Instructions

With color A, CO 80 sts.

Rounds 1-7: K1, P1. Rep around.

Rounds 8-9: K1, P1. Rep around.

Rounds 10-11: P1, K1. Rep around.

{Rounds 8-11 make up double moss stitch pattern}

Rep rounds 8-11 until your work measures 4.5″ from cast on edge. On first stitch of next round break color A and add color B.

Continue working rounds 8-11 in the new color until your work measures 6.5″ from cast on edge.

Crown

Round 1: P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, k2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Round 2: *P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, K the K2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Round 3: *K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, K2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Round 4: *K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, K the K2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Round 5: *P1, K1, P1, K1, K2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Round 6: *K3, K2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Round 7: *K2, K2tog. Rep from * to end of round.

Cut your working yarn leaving a tail that is approximately 12″ long. With your darning needle, thread the tail through each of your stitches, dropping them from your needle as you go. Pull the tail to draw up the top and reinforce by working the tail around the center of the closure. Weave in your ends.
