Pattern Notes

Our beginner crochet scarf can be made with any bulky weight yarn, but we love Hue + Me because it’s readily available in craft stores and there are some really great color options. See our favorite yarns for scarves in this post here!

The yarn originally used for this project has been discontinued, but we found Lion Brand Hue + Me Yarn to be a perfect substitute. If you don’t have access to this yarn, you can substitute with another bulky weight yarn. If you substitute with a lightweight, worsted weight yarn, or chunky yarn your scarf won’t turn out the right size so look for a #5 on the label to make sure it’s a bulky weight!

Additionally, you should know that the chain 1one at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch. Ch 2 at the beginning of the row counts as a double crochet.

Gauge: 8 stitches and 7 rows = 4″ worked in scarf stitch pattern

Finished Size: 6″ wide; 76″ long
