Gather Your Supplies

For this project we’ll be working with Patons Shetland Chunky, a perfect yarn to keep your toes toasty warm, and Bernat Pipsqueak, the softest yarn I’ve ever felt!

Supplies

  • 2 skeins Patons Shetland Chunky, Wine
  • 1 skein Bernat Pipsqueak, Whitey White
  • 5.5 mm Crochet Hook
  • Darning Needle
  • Scissors

Pattern Notes

We’ll begin this crochet along by working both of the soles. In part two we’ll build on the soles for height and we’ll also crochet the top half of the slipper. From there, we’ll wrap things up by putting the slipper together and adding those fuzzy finishing touches!

These slippers tend to run a little big. Keep that in mind when you’re making your size selections. You want the slippers to be on the small side so the fabric will stretch a bit for the best fit.

Written Instructions

Santa Crochet Slippers CAL 2018 | Free #crochet pattern and tutorial!

Round 1: Align top of  slipper in toe of sole. With chunky yarn, fasten in at one end of top. Working through top of the slipper first and the sts of the last round of the sole, evenly space 32(40, 56) sts. Fasten off.


Row 1: Fasten on chunky yarn in st next to first st worked for top. Ch1 (not st) Hdc in first st. Make one Hdc in each st to last two. Hdc2tog. Join with a slst to first st.

Row 2: Ch1 (not st) Hdc in first st. Make one Hdc in each st to last two. Hdc2tog. Join with a slst to first st.

Use tails to secure the sides with the top of the slipper.


Round 1: Fasten on Pipsqueak yarn in any heel st. Ch 1 (not st). Make one Hdc in each st to top. Work one Hdc in each stitch of the top. Continue working one Hdc in each rem st.

Round 2: Ch 1 (not st). Make one Hdc in each st to top. Work one Hdc in each stitch of the top. Continue working one Hdc in each rem st.


Make two 1.5″ pompoms using the Pipsqueak yarn and secure with chunky yarn to front of slippers.
