About this Pattern


If you’re looking for a pair of crochet wrist warmers that are easy to crochet, you’re in the right place. These pair perfectly with our matching hat and cowl for a complete set.

This project is a great place to start if you’ve never tried crocheting wrist warmers before. The repeat is simple and they work up really fast giving you nearly instant gratification.

  • Approx 60 yds; Red Heart Colorscape; (Colorway pictured: Munich)
  • 6 mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors

This pattern is written using standard US crochet terminology.

  • BLO Back Loop Only
  • Ch Chain
  • CL Cluster Stitch**
  • Hdc Half Double Crochet
  • Hk Hook
  • Rep Repeat

  • Sc2tog Single Crochet Two Together

  • YO Yarn Over Hook

**Clustered Stitch: YO, insert hk in designated st, YO and pull through 2 loops. YO, insert hk in same st, YO and pull through 4 loops. One CL st made.

Finished Size
  • Small/Medium – 7″ hand circumference; 6″ length
  • Large/ Extra Large – 7.5″ hand circumference; 7″ length
Gauge

6.5 sts x 10 rounds = 4″ worked in clustered stitch pattern.

(Rounds 4 and 5 make up clustered stitch pattern)

Additional Notes: Chain one at beginning of row does not count as a stitch.

Written Instructions


Row 1: Ch 23(25). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each rem ch. Taking care not to twist, fold row and join with a slst to the first sc. Using yarn needle and tail created from slip knot, secure bottom edge of row.

Rounds 2-3: Ch 1. 1 sc in the BLO in same st as ch. 1 sc in the BLO of each rem st. Join with a slst to first sc.

Round 4: Ch 1. 1 hdc in same st as ch. *Ch 1, sk one st, CL in next. Rep from * to last 2 sts. CL in second to last st. Ch 1, sk last st. Join with a slst to first hdc.

Round 5: Ch 1. 1 sc in every CL st and every ch. Join with a slst to first sc.

Repeat: Rep rounds 4 and 5 a total of 3(4) more times.

Right Hand Wrist Warmer Thumb Instructions Only

Next Round: Ch 1. 1 hdc in same st as ch. *Ch 1, sk one st, CL in next. Rep from * 7(8) more times. Ch 4(5). Sk 3 sts. CL in next st. Ch 1, sk one st. Join with a slst to Hdc.

Note for left-handed crocheters: following these instructions will make the left-handed wrist warmer.

Left Hand Wrist Warmer Thumb Instructions Only

Next Round: Ch 1 (doesn’t count as st). Hdc in same st as ch. *Ch 1, sk one st, CL in next. Ch 4(5). Sk 3 sts. CL in next. *Ch 1 sk one st, CL in next. Rep from * to last st. Ch 1, sk last st. Join with a slst to Hdc.

Note for left-handed crocheters: following these instructions will make the right-handed wrist warmer.

Continue for Both Right and Left Hand Wrist Warmer

Next Round: Ch 1. 1 sc in every CL st and every ch-1 space to the ch-4(5). 3 sc in next ch-space. 1 sc in every CL st and every ch-1 space to end of round. Join with a slst to first sc.

Next 2 Rounds: Ch 1. 1 sc in the BLO of first st. 1 sc in the BLO of each rem st. Join with a slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
