For the look you see here, I recommend using a #10 crochet thread. You can, however, use a light weight or worsted weight yarn as well if you want your flowers to be a little bigger!
You will only need about 6 yds of thread for each flower. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 Crochet Thread (Aqua & Maize shown)
- 3.25 mm Crochet Hook
- Darning Needle
- Hot glue gun
- Hair clips

Your finished flower will measure approximately 1″ in diameter. If your flower is smaller than that, try going up a hook size to make up for the difference in gauge. If your flower is larger than that, go down a hook size.
- Ch – Chain
- Sc – Single Crochet
- Slst – Slip Stitch
- Tc – Treble Crochet

For the look you see here, you will crochet one flower for each flower hair clip but feel free to get creative and layer!
Each flower is crocheted in a single round starting with the center and working outward. Each flower hair clip will take about 15 minutes to make!
For more detailed instructions, watch the video tutorial for a similar flower using worsted weight yarn here.
