Gather Your Supplies

To get the same look and feel of this crochet wall hanging I recommend using Lion Brand LB Collection Wool, Color Made Easy and Stitchbird yarn.

To make one wall hanging, you’ll need one skein of each yarn.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 skein Lion Brand LB Collection Wool, Natural (not currently available on Amazon but by clicking the link, you can order from Lionbrand.com)
  • 1 skein Lion Brand Color Made Easy, Millennial
  • 1 skein Lion Brand Stitchbird, Hummingbird
  • 10 mm Crochet Hook
  • 9 mm Crochet Hook
  • 14″ Embroidery Hoop
  • 9 mm Crochet Hook
  • Darning Needle
  • Scissors

Gauge

Use the instructions to crochet the spiral flower to check your gauge. It should measure 4″ in diameter.

Finished Size

Your finished crochet wall hanging will measure 14″ in diameter from (left side to right side) and 31″ from top to bottom (including the fringe).

Pattern Notes

This crochet wall hanging combines the use of finger crochet and two different size crochet hooks. If you only have a 9 mm hook or a 10 mm hook, you may use only one and the results will be very similar.

I recommend watching the tutorial for the fringe and assembly instructions.

With your LB Collection Wool yarn, create a slip knot and make 17 sc around your embroidery hoop starting from the left side of the adjustment block piece (right side if you’re left handed). Switch to Color Made Easy yarn in last stitch.

With Color Made Easy yarn and your 10 mm crochet hook make 44 sc around your embroidery hoop. Tip! keep the “v’s” of the stitch situated on the top. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Spiral Instructions (Minute Mark 3:33)

With Color Made Easy yarn and 9 mm crochet hook

Round 1: Ch 3 and Hdc 7 times in first chain. Do not join. Continue to work in spiral this round and throughout. (Ch 2 counts as hdc) (8 sts)

Round 2: Make 2 hdc in the BLO of each stitch. PM on first stitch of round. (16 sts)

Round 3: Make 1 hdc in the BLO of the first stitch. *2 Hdc in the BLO of the next stitch. 1 Hdc in the BLO of the next stitch. Repeat to last stitch. Make 2 Hdc in the BLO of the last stitch. (24 sts)

Round 4: Ch 2 (doesn’t count as st)and turn your work. Make 1 dc in the remaining loop of each of the next 45 sts. 1 Hdc in second and third to last remaining loop sts and sc in the last remaining loop.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Use hot glue to attach the spiral to the adjustment block on the embroidery hoop.

Fringe Instructions

Make 40 cuts of Stitchbird yarn that measure approx. 43″ in length. Group them in sets of 8 and add them as tassels to thefront loop of the first five wool yarn stitches. (Minute Mark 6:43)

Make 5 cuts of LB Collection Wool yarn that measure approx. 16″ in length. Add them as tassels to the same five stitches as the Stitchbird tassels using the back loop. (Minute Mark 7:14)

Make 10 cuts of Color Made Easy yarn that measure approx. 10″ in length and add them as tassels to the front loop of 5 stitches next to the spiral. (Minute Mark 8:05)

Hang your wall hanging and trim the stitchbird tassels at an angle that points upward. Trim the LB Collection Wool tassels at an angle in the opposite direction. Trim the Color Made Easy yarn tassels at an angle that matches the wool yarn tassels.
