I put Lion Brand’s Shawl in a Ball yarn to the test with this c2c granny stitch crochet triangle shawl. I wanted to see if you really could crochet a shawl with only one ball.
Well, you can!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 skein Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball yarn, Mindful Mauve
- 6.5 mm Crochet Hook
- Darning Needle

This crochet shawl uses the corner to corner (C2C) method of working the traditional granny stitch. If unfamiliar with this stitch, have a look at this tutorial for a look at how to crochet it.
You will only use one skein of Shawl in a Ball for this pattern and size, however if you want a larger shawl, add a second ball and continue with the repeat until it reaches the desired size.
You may substitute yarn to achieve the same look but understand that doing so will effect the gauge and size of your finished project. It’s a rather versatile pattern, so to substitute yarn, start with the recommended hook size on your yarn band and continue with the stitch repeat until it measures the desired size.
