Gather Your Supplies

This pattern was written and tested for Lion Brand Scarfie. It’s perfect for a simple project like this hat because the long color transitions transform it into something that looks much more complicated.

If you choose to substitute yarn, I recommend you stay in the worsted weight category.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 skein Lion Brand Scarfie (Cream/Taupe shown)
  • 6.5 mm Crochet Hook
  • Darning Needle
  • Scissors

Pattern Notes

This pattern is broken into three sections: band, sides and crown. Sizes will be given as follows:

Preemie (Baby, Toddler, Child, Tween, Womens, Mens)

Chain three at beginning of rounds count as double crochet. Chain one at beginning of band rows does not count as a stitch.

You may substitute yarn to achieve a similar look but understand that doing so will effect the gauge and size of your finished project.
