Gather Your Supplies
If you choose to substitute yarn for this project, I recommend using a worsted weight yarn and check your gauge.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Approx. 130 yds, Paintbox Simply Aran or Lion Brand Heartland Yarn
- 6.5 mm Crochet Hook (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- Darning Needle
15 sts x 8.5 rows = 4″ worked in double crochet
Approximately 22″ in circumference (will fit up to 23″); approximately 8.5″ length
- Bpdc – Back Post Double Crochet
- Ch – Chain
- Dc – Double Crochet
- Fpdc – Front Post Double Crochet
- Rem – Remaining
- Slst – Slip Stitch
- St(s) – Stitch(es)
For a list of all crochet abbreviations, check out my quick guide here:
This pattern is broken into three sections: crown, sides and band. Chain three at beginning of rounds count as double crochet.
This pattern was written for the Made With Love | Crochet Challenge for Warm Up America 2019. Participants are encouraged to use as many colors as they want in any stripe or color block pattern. Because this is the recommendation, there are no instructions for yarn color included in this pattern.
You’re welcome to make them however you like!
